2017 Summer Holiday Programme at AHI

 

In other to engage and build the capacity of young people on Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH), life and livelihood skills, Action Health Incorporated organized a three weeks Summer Programme for young people between the ages of 10-19 from 31st July to 18th August, 2017. The programme was aimed at improving the knowledge of young people on SRH issues, Life and Livelihood skills and creating awareness on the availability of Adolescent-Youth Friendly Health Services at AHI.

The programme featured captivating SRH sessions, short videos, group work, computer classes and practicum sessions. Entertainment sessions were not left out as there were dance and drama classes. Participants were grouped into two age cluster; 10 -14 years and 15- 19 years to ensure access to age appropriate information.

Also, the young people were availed the opportunity to watch the educational Nicademia cartoon and were presented with Nicademia gift items. Feedbacks received from participants include:”I have learnt how to improve my self-esteem, and the importance of abstinences”, “I really enjoyed myself and it was great meeting other young people”
