AHI Equips Sexual and Reproductive Health Frontliners in Borno State

 

From February 26th to 27th Action Health Incorporated (AHI) held a 2-Day Project Orientation & Strategy Planning Meeting with Government Partners and Sexual and Reproductive Health Frontliners at Dujima International Hotel in Maiduguri, Borno State.

The purpose of this meeting was to refresh the skills and build the technical capacity of health service providers in the implementation of Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) services in Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps in Borno State.

In attendance were representatives of the state’s Ministry of Health and Ministry of Women Affairs, Borno State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Borno State Emergency Management Agency, and Borno State Sustainable Development Partnership & Humanitarian Support. Participants consisted of 28 health workers, 15 government officials, and 2 facilitators.

Speaking on the meeting, AHI Programme Officer Mr Adeolowa Awofeso asserted that training/orientation programme was planned with government partners to provide training to health workers from Dikwa and Monguno LGA. He also pointed out that the training strengthened the skills and technical capacity of the health service providers in the provision of SRH services, mobile maternal health services, psychosocial support counselling and referral services in humanitarian settings.
