"We Are the World": Children's
Day Celebration

The 2005 Children’s Day was
celebrated at AHI's Youth Centre with pomp and pageantry
on May 27. The event, which was themed, "We Are
The World", aimed at increasing the awareness of
parents and children on the rights of children; equipping
young people for a better tomorrow and helping them
make a successful transition from adolescence to adulthood.
Highlights of the day's activities
included lectures, debate, talent display, song and
drama presentations, and poem recitation. Winners in
the competitions were later presented with prizes.
Over 300 young people, consisting
of in-school and out-of school youth took part in the
celebration.
