The news
of the Jamboree 2007 which held on the 24th of August
2007 at the Action Health Incorporated (AHI)Youth Centre –with
the theme “Unleash: explore your talent!” echoed
within and beyond the borders of Somolu, Kosofe and
Mainland local government. Jamboree is an annual programme
organized solely by the Youth Assistants of AHI. It
aims at getting young people to display their creative
competence. Being on vacation was no hindrance as the
turnout of participants was impressive. The package
seemed unbelievable to them that they kept on asking “Is
it true that one of the Young Achiever’s featured
in the “Growing Up” newsletter would be
coming?” “Will a movie star truly come?” Their
questions knew no bound. Babatunde Ogunlola spurred
them up to explore their talents after taking them
on the topic “Everything you need is in you”.
Series of presentations in categories ranging from
poetry, comedy, song to dance were equally appealing.
Many entries were received and they all were allotted
time and space to do their presentations. The ‘DJ’s
Quest’ was another package they could not resist.
The jamboree was organized and handled by the 2007
Youth Assistants with 245 people in attendance.
