| Action Health
Incorporated (AHI) has been named a recipient of the
2007
MacArthur Award for Creative and Effective Institutions.
The annual award is given to organizations whose work
has shown significant impact in addressing some of the
world’s most challenging problems. AHI received
this award for its work on improving the health and wellbeing
of Nigeria’s young people, in particular catalyzing
the adoption of a national policy mandating universal
access to comprehensive sexuality education for young
people, and the development and implementation of the
National Family Life and HIV/AIDS Education Curriculum.
Action Health Incorporated, along with the seven other
recipients of this year’s award were honored
at a ceremony in Illinois,USA on June 7.
