The Youth Skills Development Programme is a salaried one-year internship programme that engages fresh secondary school leavers aged 16-19 years, to serve as Youth Programme Assistants within the organization. The programme provides them the opportunity to develop the core competencies and skills required for transition from adolescence to a healthy and productive adulthood with particular focus on the following competencies:

Self Organisation and Time Management
Interpersonal Communication & Public Speaking
ICT Proficiency and Office Administration
Personal Health Management
Community Development Activities

Participants in the upcoming programme will have the opportunity to work at AHI from December 2011 – December 2012 and certificates will be issued to them on successful completion of the programme.

Requirements

Eligible applicants should:
Be between 16-19 years old;
Have a minimum of five (5) O’ Level Credits including Mathematics and English Language in the SSCE or NECO;
Demonstrate creativity and ability to use initiative;
Must be committed to working fulltime from December 2011-December 2012;
Live within close proximity of the Jibowu-Yaba Area of Lagos Mainland.

When called upon, you will be required to come along with copies of your certificates and a reference letter from your school principal.

Registering to become a member of our community is very simple. Look for “Join the Community” and you will see options to register and log in. Then follow the steps below:

If you are a new member

You have two options to join the community:

Option 1: Connect with another account your own
If you have an account on Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo, Google, AOL, MySpace, Blogger, WordPress, LiveBlogger, or Typepad, you can use it to log in. The system will ask you to allow connection between the blog and your account. You must allow it to use the account on the blog. Once allowed, you are on your way to expressing yourself!

Option 2: Register with a new username
Click on the “Register” link to be taken to the page where you can register under a unique username. When registering, provide the name you would like to be referred to (username) and your current email address. The system will then send your password to you, and you are on your way to expressing yourself!

If you have previously registered

If you are already a member and want to comment on a post, click on “Login” and enter your username and password in the log in form. If you have forgotten your password, you can get a new one by clicking http://www.actionhealthinc.org/blog/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword

Note to everyone

The default user level for new members is ‘subscriber’. This allows you to comment on postings. However, if you would like to write your own post, send an email webservices@actionhealthinc.org, stating why you want to be a contributor. We’ll review your request, and if approved, your status will be changed to ‘author’.
