  Time for Action
In response to the urgent need to articulate specific strategies to address the reproductive health needs of Nigerian adolescents, the National Conference on Adolescent Reproductive Health was held in Abuja, Nigeria in January 1999. For the first time in Nigeria, a conference worked towards developing a strategic framework for action on adolescent health, with active participation of all key stakeholders, including young people. Time for Action is the report of this landmark meeting. This summary of the conference proceedings serves as an important information source for programme planners and implementers, and motivates us to seek innovative ways of meeting young people's needs in relation to their sexual and reproductive health and rights, and their impact on national development.
