Often, people have confused sex and sexuality to mean the same thing, and for this reason, many adults do not approve of young people learning about sexuality. Sex and sexuality in reality mean two different things. Sexuality is the expression of our maleness or femaleness, i.e. how we express ourselves either as males or female, while sex could mean one's gender or the act of sexual intercourse between two people.

Sexuality education is a life-long process of acquiring information and forming attitudes, beliefs and values about identity, relationship and intimacy. Sexuality education has many positive outcomes, for instance, it teaches young people to maintain personal hygiene, encourages them to communicate more and better with their parents, empowers them to make informed choices, teaches them about the changes around them, and makes them aware that they have to take responsibility for the consequences of their behaviour.

The information presented here are on issues related to growing up and your sexuality – puberty, sex, interpersonal relationships, sexually transmitted diseases, personal skills, etc. All the facts you want to know have been presented in simple, unambiguous language to make learning easier for you.
