1. Introduction
Action Health Incorporated (AHI) is a non-profit organization committed to creating opportunities for young people’s successful transition to productive adulthood. Since its establishment in 1989, AHI has served as an advocate and catalyst for creating better life options for young people in Nigeria.
In 2024, AHI, with support from UNFPA and UNESCO, launched SoftLife247 (www.softlife247.com), a digital learning platform that provides Nigerian adolescents and young people aged 10–24 with accessible, age-appropriate Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) content.
AHI is issuing this call to identify and select fifteen (15) youth influencers and youth advocates across five states – Lagos, the Federal Capital Territory (Abuja), Cross River, Borno and Kaduna – who will be trained and supported to promote Comprehensive Life Skills Education (CLSE) using social media and peer-led campaigns. Their work will help to normalize conversations about sexual health, rights and empowerment, and direct young people, especially those out of school
Please note: this is a call for applications into a capacity-building and youth advocacy programme. It is not a commercial influencer contract, and applicants are not required to submit a fee or budget proposal.
2. Context and Rationale
Young people increasingly rely on social media as their primary source of information, education and community. Much of the sexual and reproductive health content they encounter online is inaccurate, sensationalized or stigmatizing, while many adolescents – particularly those who are out of school – have few trusted adults or services to turn to with their questions.
Youth influencers and peer advocates are trusted voices among their age group. When they are well informed, they can correct misinformation, model respectful conversations about bodies, relationships, consent and rights, and connect their peers to reliable resources and youth-friendly services. Combining online content with offline, peer-led engagement in tertiary institutions and communities also ensures that young people with limited internet access are reached.
This activity contributes to the programme output on enhanced capacity to use digital and other innovative solutions for advocacy and demand creation for the roll-out of the international technical and programmatic guidance on out-of-school CLSE.
3. Goal and Objectives
Goal: To build a network of trained youth influencers and youth advocates who use social media and peer-led campaigns to normalize conversations about sexual health, rights and empowerment, and drive adolescents and young people to accurate CLSE content on SoftLife247.
Objectives:
- Strengthen the knowledge and skills of 15 youth influencers and youth advocates on CLSE, SoftLife247 and programme monitoring and reporting.
- Reach and engage at least 1,500 adolescents and young people with CLSE information through digital and peer-led (offline) activities.

4. Programme Activities
Selected youth influencers and youth advocates will take part in the following activities:
- Virtual capacity building: A virtual training on CLSE and the SoftLife247 platform, followed by a session on programme monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
- Peer-led campaigns: Trained influencers will reach young people offline, including campus engagement in at least two (2) tertiary institutions per state, as well as youth clubs, community and faith-based youth groups and other youth spaces.
- Webinar series: Influencers will help to mobilize young people for, and where selected, serve as co-hosts or panellists in, a series of webinars on CLSE and SoftLife247 linked to international observances such as the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence and World AIDS Day.
Specific deliverables, content calendars, and reporting templates will be agreed at the training.
