The Executive Director of Action Health Incorporated, Mrs Adenike Esiet, has been appointed to the Population Advisory Group led by the Chairman of the National Population Commission, Hon. Nasir Isa Kwarra.
AHI is pleased to call for applications to the annual Youth Skills Development Programme. This is a salaried one-year internship programme that engages fresh secondary school leavers aged 16-19 years, to serve as Youth Programme Assistants within AHI.
Healthcare providers play a significant role in providing services to young people. As such, institutions must adequately train them on how to deliver Adolescent and Youth-Friendly Health Services (AYFHS). To this end, the Health Services Unit of Action Health Incorporated (AHI) organized a week-long training programme for 29 Post-Basic Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing students from the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital Yaba, Lagos.
To increase the uptake of modern contraceptives in the South Eastern region of Nigeria, AHI conducted a Scale-Up Capacity Building Programme for 100 Community Health Extension Workers (CHEWs) and Community Health Volunteers (CHVs). This programme was carried out in 4 Local Government Areas across Owerri, Imo State (Ikeduru and Isiala Mbano) and Calabar, Cross River State (Calabar Municipal and Ikom).
From February 26th to 27th Action Health Incorporated (AHI) held a 2-Day Project Orientation & Strategy Planning Meeting with Government Partners and Sexual and Reproductive Health Frontliners at Dujima International Hotel in Maiduguri, Borno State.
As part of efforts towards addressing the issue of sexual harassment against young girls in Atewolara community in Mushin, a group of trained Girl Leaders from the Rise Up/Cummins Girls Voices Initiative (GVI) advocacy programme organized an interactive dialogue with key stakeholders and community members.

To improve service delivery for survivors of child abuse, different stakeholders responding to child abuse cases from across Lagos State were trained for 3- days on case management by the Educating Nigerian Girls in New Enterprises II (ENGINE) programme in Lagos State from 28th – 30th January 2020.
As part of effort in amplifying girls’ voices, Action Health Incorporated (AHI) with support from Rise Up trained sixty (60) girl leaders ages 13-18 from across Lagos State on leadership and public advocacy during a 5 Days’ workshop held in Lagos.
Between September 3 and September 4, 2018, Action Health Incorporated (AHI) conducted a two-day training programme for third party monitors from selected civil society organisations (CSOs) to build their capacity to monitor the National Social Investment Programmes (N-SIPs) in Lagos State.
As part of efforts to improve the health and development of adolescents and young people, the Federal Ministry of Health, with support from the World Health Organisation (WHO), convened a 5-day stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja to review the National Policy on the Health and Development of Adolescents and Young People in Nigeria that was produced in 2007.
